International Shipping & Purchase Guide

IMPORTANT

About Inventory

Our inventory is shared across multiple e-commerce platforms including Rakuten, Amazon, Yahoo! Shopping, Ochanoko Net, BASE, and Mercari. Therefore, even if an item is shown as in stock on the website, it may be out of stock depending on the timing of your order.

If an item is found to be out of stock, we will notify you promptly.

  • If restocking is expected: We will inform you of the estimated restocking date.
  • If the item is discontinued or unavailable: We will proceed with cancellation.
* Refunds for cancelled orders will be processed in accordance with the policies of the respective e-commerce platform.
IMPORTANT

Items That Cannot Be Shipped Internationally

Orders will be cancelled in the following cases where international shipping is not possible:

  1. The size or weight of the item exceeds international postal regulations.
  2. The item is subject to import restrictions in the destination country or region (matcha, lacquerware, metal products, bamboo products, wood products, other food items, etc.).
  3. Matcha, tea leaves, and other food products may be prohibited or restricted from import under the food import and quarantine regulations of the destination country. In such cases, the order will be cancelled as shipment is not possible.
  4. The item is subject to Japanese export regulations.
  5. The destination country is not covered by Japan Post's delivery services.

If any of the above applies, we will contact you promptly after confirming your order and proceed with cancellation. Refunds for cancelled orders will be processed in accordance with the policies of the respective e-commerce platform.

※ We strongly recommend checking the import regulations and food quarantine regulations of your destination country before placing an order.

Shipping Information

  • Shipping methods: Japan Post EMS (Express Mail Service) or International e-packet Light
  • Estimated delivery time: Typically 10–30 days (varies by country/region)
  • A tracking number will be provided
  • Some countries and regions may not be available for delivery
  • The shipping method will be determined based on the order details, weight, and destination

Payment

  • Payment methods follow the policies of the respective e-commerce platform (Rakuten, Amazon, etc.)
  • Product prices are displayed in Japanese Yen (JPY)
  • Exchange rates and international transaction fees are the responsibility of the buyer

Customs Duties & Import Taxes

For international shipments, all of the following costs are the responsibility of the buyer:

  • Customs Duty
  • Import VAT / GST
  • Customs Clearance Fee

Tax rates vary depending on the laws of the destination country. Customs clearance procedures are the responsibility of the buyer.

※ Matcha and food products may be confiscated or destroyed during customs clearance. We cannot provide compensation in such cases.

Returns & Refunds

  • Due to the nature of international shipping, returns are generally not accepted
  • We will only address cases where the product is damaged or defective
  • Please contact us within 7 days of receipt
  • Photographic evidence of the damage is required
  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer

Non-Delivery & Lost Packages

  • We cannot guarantee delivery in cases of delays or non-delivery due to force majeure such as natural disasters, war, or strikes
  • We cannot be held responsible for non-delivery or returns caused by incorrect address information
  • No compensation will be provided for items confiscated or disposed of by customs
  • We recommend using the shipping insurance option

Other Important Matters

  • We cannot guarantee against delays caused by customs inspection or clearance procedures
  • In the event of any discrepancy between language versions of this page, the Japanese version shall prevail
  • This agreement shall be governed by the laws of Japan
  • Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Yokohama District Court as the court of first instance
Note for EU Residents: This policy is governed by Japanese law. However, nothing in this policy affects your rights under mandatory EU consumer protection regulations, including the right to a 14-day withdrawal period where applicable under EU law.
